Uniqlo
Uniqlo's tasked FIDM students to design a one-of-a-kind product for their All-Product Recycling Initiative. Students were given mostly new and lightly worn garments donated by Uniqlo and their customers. The final garments were then on display at Uniqlo at the Bloc in Downtown Los Angeles, CA.
Inspired by the Japanese Kimono, this look uses recycled clothing to create a modern version. The kimono features a zipper around the waistline allowing the wearer to zip for a shorter look or unzip to create a longer length. The under pieces are made from upcycled sweat pants. The design was made using 100% recycled garments.
